Accepting these terms
These terms cover your use of the Alabaster Concrete website and any estimate, agreement or work you get from us. When you browse this site, send us a request or accept an estimate, you agree to these terms.
If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site or book work with us. If something here isn't clear, call us at (659) 901-5011 or reach us through our contact page before you go ahead.
What we do
Alabaster Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Alabaster, AL. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, pool decks, slabs, footings, foundations and retaining walls, and we also do decorative and stamped concrete, foundation raising and concrete cutting for homes and businesses in Alabaster and the cities around it.
You can read more about who we are on our About page. What we'll actually do on your property is set out in your written estimate or agreement, and that document controls if it differs from anything on this site.
Estimates and pricing
We give free estimates at your property, with no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure on the day, so the price and scope apply only to the work it describes.
Some conditions only show up once the old concrete is out or the ground is open, such as soft or wet soil under the slab, buried debris, roots or water running where it shouldn't. If we find something like that, we'll stop, explain it and give you the added cost before we do any extra work, and we won't go ahead on that extra work without your OK.
Prices on an estimate hold for the period written on it. After that, material and labor costs may have changed, so we may need to update the estimate before we schedule.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We set a start date once you accept the estimate. Concrete depends on the weather and the ground, so we may move a pour if rain, heat, cold or wet soil would hurt the finished slab, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
You can cancel or reschedule by calling or contacting us as early as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered concrete, rebar or other materials, or after we've started work, you agree to pay for the materials ordered and the work already done, as set out in your agreement.
We're not responsible for delays caused by weather, supplier shortages, permit timing or other things outside our control.
Your part of the job
Before we start, please tell us about anything underground we might not know about, such as sprinkler lines, drain pipes, septic lines, invisible pet fences or private wiring. We'll take care around marked lines, but we can't be responsible for damage to private lines nobody told us about.
Please give our crew clear access to the work area and move vehicles, furniture and other belongings out of the way. Whether your job needs a permit depends on the city or county where your property sits, and your written agreement will say who is applying for it.
New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength before it can take weight. You agree to follow the curing and use instructions we give you, because walking, driving or parking on the slab too soon can crack or mark it.
Payment
Your payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are written in your estimate or agreement. Unless that document says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.
If a payment is late, we may pause any remaining work until it's settled, and you agree to pay reasonable costs of collecting what's owed, as far as Alabama law allows.
Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover
Alabaster Concrete is fully licensed and insured, and we offer satisfaction guaranteed on every job. If you're not happy with our workmanship, tell us and we'll come back out, look at it with you and work to make it right.
Concrete can still develop small hairline cracks over time, even when the base is dug out and packed and the control joints, the grooves cut so cracks form in a straight line, are placed where they belong. Our guarantee doesn't cover cracking, settling or surface wear caused by things outside our control, such as soil movement, tree roots, water from gutters or nearby grading, overloading, de-icing salts, early use against our curing instructions, or work done by others.
Any written warranty for your job is the one stated in your agreement. Apart from that and the guarantee above, and as far as the law allows, we make no other warranties, spoken or written.
Limits on our liability
As far as Alabama law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway or patio while concrete cures or a delay outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Using this website
The information on this site, including our home page and service pages, is general and is meant to help you understand concrete work. It isn't a quote or a promise about your property, because every site is different until we've seen it.
The text, photos and design on this site belong to Alabaster Concrete or are used with permission. Please don't copy them for commercial use without asking us first.
If there's a disagreement
If you have a problem with our work or a bill, please call us at (659) 901-5011 or write to us through our contact page first. Most issues get settled with a conversation and a visit, and we'll reply within 1 business day.
If we can't settle it that way, either of us may take the matter to the state courts that serve the county where the work was done.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the current one. Changes don't affect a signed agreement for work already scheduled or under way, which stays under the terms in place when you signed it.
